Militants killed two Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) members and wounded two others in clashes in the Keshtegan area in Saravan county (Sistan and Baluchestan province) on Sunday, July 21. Similar clashes between militants and security forces are possible in the area over the coming weeks.
The threat of violent militancy remains high in all of Iran's border areas, especially in the west and the east, partly due to weak border monitoring by neighboring countries including Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Turkey.
Individuals in Sistan and Baluchestan province are advised to monitor developments to the situation, remain vigilant for militant activity, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities and their home governments.
