Rescue and recovery operations are ongoing in the city of Liupanshui (Guizhou province) as of Wednesday, July 24, after a landslide was triggered in the area on the night of Tuesday, July 23. The landslide occurred at approximately 21:20 (local time) on Tuesday, burying 21 homes and killing at least nine people. Emergency personnel have rescued at least 11 residents but over 30 people are still reportedly missing. Localized business and traffic disruptions are expected in the area.
Individuals in Liupanshui are advised to avoid the area of the landslide and obey all instructions issued by the local authorities.
