Event

South Korean military officials reported that North Korea conducted two ballistic missile tests on the morning (local time) of Thursday, July 25. According to South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff, the short-range missiles were fired from the Hodo Peninsula near the town of Wonsan into the East Sea (Sea of Japan) at approximately 05:34 and 05:57. The rockets reportedly flew around 430 km (260 mi) and reached an altitude of 50 km (31 mi). Japanese officials said that the missiles did not reach the country's exclusive economic zone or its territory. 

Further missile tests by North Korea are possible in the near term.
