The Unite Behind civil society group has called for a protest to take place in front of the German Consulate in Cape Town on Thursday, July 25, to denounce alleged corruption at the Passenger Rail Agency South Africa (PRASA) company. Protesters are expected to gather from 11:00 to 13:00 (local time) to demand the German government prosecute its nationals and sanction companies involved in corruption acts at PRASA. 

Localized transportation disruptions along with increased security measures are expected around the demonstration site.


Individuals in Cape Town are advised to monitor developments to the situation, avoid all protests as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
