Venezuela: New travel advisory issued by the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention

Venezuela Alerte de sécurité

The U.S. administration advises its nationals to avoid traveling to Venezuela due to health infrastructure breakdown

TIMEFRAME expected from 16/8/2019, 12h30 until 31/8/2019, 12h29 (America/Caracas). COUNTRY/REGION Northern Venezuela

On August 7, the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated its Venezuela travel advisory, advising its citizens to avoid all nonessential travel to the country as Venezuela is "experiencing outbreaks of infectious diseases, and adequate health care is currently not available in most of the country." CDC warns of a breakdown of the medical infrastructure in the country, as well as shortages of food, water, electricity, medicine, and medical supplies. All health requirements for travels to Venezuela can be found here

US nationals are advised to consult government guidelines on travel to Venezuela following the implementation of the new restrictions.

The security situation in Venezuela remains complex. Professional security advice and support should be sought prior to travel.
