A series of explosions struck the city of Jalalabad (Nangarhar province) on Monday, August 19, amid Independence Day celebrations. According to officials, at least ten explosions took place in separate locations across the city. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attacks, which have left at least 66 people wounded, though both the Taliban and Islamic State (IS) groups are known to be active in the area.
