An improvised explosive device (IED) detonated in a residential building in the city of Bnei Brak, east of Tel Aviv, on Sunday, August 18. No casualties were reported from the blast. An investigation into the blast is ongoing as of Monday, August 19; no group immediately claimed responsibility for the bombing, although a connection to organized crime is suspected. This is the second explosive device to detonate in Bnei Brak in the past month, after a blast wounded two on Thursday, July 26.

A heightened security presence is to be expected in the incident area over the coming hours.
