The POEDIN labor union has called for a protest in Thessaloniki on Saturday, September 7, coinciding with a speech Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will be delivering. Participants are set to rally at 18:00 (local time) at Aristotelous Square.
Two other rallies are also scheduled for the same date, one hosted by a Macedonian group at 18:00 by the Statue of Alexander the Great. The second is a so-called Anarchist rally at the Arch of Galerius at the same time.
Associated transportation disruptions and a heightened security presence are to be expected around all protests.
Individuals in Thessaloniki are advised to monitor developments to the situation, avoid all protests and demonstrations as a precaution, expect transportation disruptions, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
