Thousands of teachers protested in Amman on Thursday, September 5, demanding higher salaries. Protesters reportedly clashed with police and were dispersed with tear gas after attempting to march to the Prime Minister's office. Leaders of the Jordanian Teachers Syndicate have called for a mass strike to be held on Sunday, September 8.
