Several unions representing KLM ground staff at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) have threatened to carry out another four-hour strike in the week of Monday, September 16, through Sunday, September 22, to demand better pay and working conditions. They did not immediately announce a date or time, but said that these details would be announced at least 48 hours in advance. The strike was called off following the airline's indication of willingness to address issues concerning pay and working conditions.

Delays, modified timetables, and last-minute cancelations are likely during and following the work stoppage. Associated protests are possible in the coming days and weeks.

KLM ground staff at AMS previously staged a work stoppage on September 4, following failed negotiations over salaries and working conditions. They also called off a strike scheduled to take place on September 8, after the airline indicated a willingness to address the issues.

Individuals flying with KLM via AMS are advised to monitor developments, confirm flight reservations prior to leaving for the airport, prepare for lingering flight delays and cancelations, and contact their airline for more information
