Unconfirmed reports indicate that a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) detonated outside a cafe on Makkah Almukarramah Avenue in the capital, resulting in an unspecified number of casualties. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, although Al-Shabaab militants have carried out similar attacks in Mogadishu in the past.
