The Mayor's office in Paris has announced road closures during the Nuit Blanche 2019 event due to take place from Saturday, October 5, through Sunday, October 6. Transport authorities will close a portion of the periphery highway, from Porte de Bagnolet to Porte de la Villette, between 14:00 (local time) on Saturday through 10:00 on Sunday. During the event's parade scheduled on Saturday, the authorities will also close the following roads from 18:00 to 23:59:
- Place de la Concorde
- Rue de Rivoli
- Rue Saint Antoine
- Place de la Bastille and its surrounding roads
- Several roads in the Marais area
Increased traffic in the capital, as well as an augmented demand for alternative means of transportation, is expected during the Nuit Blanche event.
The Nuit Blanche is an annual night-time arts festival during which museums and other cultural institutions - private or public - remain open and free of charge throughout the night.
Individuals in Paris are advised to monitor the situation, allow ample travel time, anticipate an increased demand for alternative means of transport, and obey instructions issued by the local authorities.
