The UFO cabin crew union has called off a strike by Lufthansa flight attendants scheduled on Sunday, October 20, after the airline offered its employees a 2 percent pay rise. However, union representatives extended the call for a strike to staff at Lufthansa's German subsidiary groups, including Germanwings, Eurowings, SunExpress Deutschland, and Cityline. The work stoppage is due to take place countrywide between 05:00 and 11:00 (local time).
Lufthansa has reportedly said that it intends to operate a full flight schedule. Nevertheless, significant flight disruptions, including delays and cancelations, are anticipated with local media outlets reporting that up to 60,000 travelers are expected to be affected.
Individuals flying to or from Germany are advised to monitor the situation, confirm their flight status, maintain flexible itineraries, and seek alternate modes of transportation if necessary.
