Further train disruptions are expected across France on Sunday, October 20, due to an ongoing strike by employees of the national rail operator SNCF. The TGV rail service in the east and north of the country has largely resumed, but service to the west and southeast regions is still significantly disrupted. The SNCF has announced limited service on the Paris-Limoges-Toulouse and Paris-Clermont-Ferrand lines, as well as no service on the night trains. Regional train service is also significantly disrupted, operating at approximately 50 percent as of 08:05 (local time) on Sunday.
An increased demand for alternative transport and longer travel times are expected in the coming hours. Additional information can be found on the SNCF website here.
Individuals are advised to monitor developments to the situation, confirm rail reservations, anticipate public transportation disruptions, and plan alternative modes of transportation.
