As of the morning (local time) on Friday, November 15, adverse weather conditions (i.e. snow) are affecting some departments across south-eastern France, Isère, Drôme, Ardèche, and Rhône-Alpes. Around 300,000 households are without electricity and severe transportation disruptions (e.g. air, rail, road) have been reported in the affected areas. Numerous roads and highways have been closed to traffic, while rail and flight disruptions (delays, cancelations) have been reported, notably in Lyon and Grenoble. One person was also killed by a falling tree in Isère.
Further transportation disruptions, hazardous driving conditions, and power outages are possible over the coming hours.
Individuals in the affected areas are advised to monitor local weather reports, factor in additional time to reach their destinations, and adhere to any instructions issued by the local authorities.
