The Jawaharlal Nehru Students' Union (JNUSU) is leading a march to Parliament in New Delhi as of 12:45 (local time) on Monday, November 18, to protest fee hikes and other education rights. Several thousand people are participating in the march. However, since 12:00 police officers have stopped students at Ber Sarai road to prevent them from reaching Parliament. Delhi police officers and paramilitary forces are deployed along the march route.
A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are expected along the march route.
Individuals in New Delhi are advised to monitor the situation, avoid all public gatherings as a precaution, budget additional time for travel, anticipate transportation disruptions and a heightened security presence, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
