Multiple civil society groups are planning to hold a march in Quito on Saturday, November 23, to denounce violence against women. Participants are expected to gather in Parque El Ejido at 16:00 (local time). Demonstrators will then march to another location; organizers said that an exact march route has not been publicly released for security reasons. According to monitoring organizations, at least 94 women have been murdered in Ecuador in 2019 as of November 16.

A heightened police presence and localized traffic disruptions are anticipated around the demonstration.
