The British Airline Pilots' Association (BALPA) and British Airways reached a preliminary agreement on Friday, November 22, to end a months-long pay dispute. As part of the agreement, the airline will offer inflation-protected pay along with improvements to working conditions, rostering, and flight bonuses. The agreement will be reviewed by UK-based British Airways pilots before being finalized.
British Airways pilots represented by the BALPA held a 48-hour strike on Monday, September 9, and Tuesday, September 10, forcing the airline to cancel almost 1700 flights. Around 195,000 travelers were affected by the strike and flight disruptions continued through Wednesday, September 11.
Individuals traveling with British Airways are advised to monitor the situation, confirm flight reservations, and to contact the airline for additional information.
