Event

The US Department of Transportation announced on Friday, January 10, that all public charter flights to Cuba except those to Havana's José Martí International Airport (HAV) will be banned. Public charter flight operators will be given a 60-day period to discontinue all affected flights, which will end on Tuesday, March 10. This announcement follows an October 25 announcement banning all commercial flights to Cuba, except to HAV. According to US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, flights are being indefinitely banned due to the Cuban government's repression of its people and support for Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
