The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) announced that a 22-hour water supply cut is scheduled to take place in several areas of Colombo, including Maharagama, Borelasgamuwa, Kolonnawa, Kotikawatta, and Mulleriyawa, starting from 08:00 (local time) on Saturday, January 18, due to maintenance work on the Ambatale water purification plant.

Further residual disruptions cannot be ruled out. 


Individuals in Colombo are advised to conserve water and stock up on bottled water. Keep abreast of the situation via local media outlets and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities (e.g. water rationing measures
