Storm Ciara forced the cancelations of dozens of flights at London's Heathrow Airport (LHR) and London's Gatwick Airport (LGW) on Sunday, February 9, as high wind gusts and heavy rainfall battered the UK. Network Rail, the UK's railway infrastructure manager, indicated disruptions in rail service across Britain due to downed trees, power lines, and other objects blocking rail lines. Over 200 flood warnings were also issued across the country.

Lingering transportation disruptions, including flight and train delays and cancelations, are to be expected in the UK over the coming hours.

Individuals traveling via the UK are advised to monitor local weather forecasts, confirm flight and train reservations, prepare for lingering flight and train disruptions (i.e. delays and cancelations), and contact their airline or railroad service for more information.
