As of 06:55 (local time) on Monday, February 17, several hundred flood warnings remain in place across the UK due to Storm Dennis. Environmental Agency officials have issued five severe flood warnings representing danger to life for rivers in Eardiston, Little Hereford and Ashford Carbonel, Ludlow, Tenbury Wells and Burford, and Hereford, while 279 other flood warnings representing a need for immediate action remain in place across the UK. The Met Office reissued yellow wind warnings for Scotland, Northern Ireland, northern England, and eastern Wales until 11:00 on Monday, and also warned of large waves.

National Rail announced at 06:45 on Monday that the following routes and stations are experiencing disruptions:

  • Southampton - Bournemouth
  • Southampton - Romsey
  • Swindon - Bristol Parkway
  • Birmingham - Rugeley Trent Valley
  • Liskeard - Looe
  • Glasgow Central via Cathcart
  • Rotherham

It also said that the Transport for Wales network was suffering from extensive disruption. 

Continued transportation disruptions to land, rail, air, and ferry services, hazardous driving conditions, and power outages are expected over the coming hours. 


Individuals in or traveling to the UK are advised to monitor local weather reports, prepare for significant transportation disruptions (including road closures) and power outages, confirm travel itineraries, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
