According to media sources, unidentified gunmen suspected to be terrorist militants attacked the village of Kerewa, Igabi Local Government Area (Kaduna state) in the early hours (local time) of Monday, March 2. The gunmen killed at least 50 civilians and wounded several others.

Additional security forces have been deployed to the region. Similar attacks are likely in Kaduna state over the near term.
