Gunmen attack multiple communities and kill 11 people in Kaduna state on March 31; similar attacks possible in the near term

According to media sources, unidentified gunmen suspected to be bandits attacked three communities in Kaduna state on Tuesday, March 31, despite the 24-hour curfew imposed by authorities to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). The attacks took place in Guruku ward, as well as Kuduru village in Chikun, and Jagindi. At least 11 people were killed in the attacks, including Jagindi's district head, Danlami Barde.

Similar attacks are likely to occur in Kaduna state in the near term.  


Individuals in Kaduna state are advised to monitor developments to the situation, remain vigilant for militant activity, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities and their home governments.
