As of 20:00 (local time) on Friday, July 10, a protest over a police-involved shooting is ongoing in the Fitzgerald neighborhood of Detroit, Michigan. According to the Detroit Police Department, officers were in the area of West McNichols Rd and San Juan Drive earlier in the day searching for a person involved in a Fourth of July shooting that left three dead and five others injured. When officers approached a suspect, they were reportedly shot at and returned fire, killing the individual.
