Event

The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) issued a report on Sunday, July 19, stating that the death toll following the flooding in Assam has risen to at least 79 people. The report further stated that the river Brahmaputra was flowing above dangerous levels across the state. A total of 26 districts have so far been affected by the flooding, as well as over 2678 villages. The government has opened 649 relief camps to date, providing relief to over 47,000 people.

Flooding, landslides, and transportation and business disruptions, as well as disruptions to power and communications services, are expected in Assam State in the coming days.

Individuals in Assam State are advised to monitor local weather reports in the near term, adhere to instructions issued by local authorities, anticipate power and transportation disruptions, and avoid wading or driving through floodwater
