The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) stated on Sunday, July 26, that the death toll amid ongoing flooding in Assam state has risen to at least 102 people since May. More than 188 people have been rescued by the ASDMA over the last 24 hours while at least five additional drowning fatalities were recorded. The district of Goalpara remains the most heavily affected area due to its close proximity to the flooded Brahmaputra River. Of the 102 deaths recorded, 26 have been killed in landslides across the state. 

Flooding, landslides, and transportation and business disruptions, as well as disruptions to power and communications services, are expected in Assam State in the coming days.
