Event

On Tuesday, July 28, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) recorded a 6.1-magnitude earthquake 13 km (8 mi) south-southeast of Tandag (Surigao del Sur province). The earthquake struck at a depth of 39 km (24 mi) at 01:32 (local time). There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.

Aftershocks are possible in the affected area over the coming hours and days.

Individuals in the affected areas are advised to monitor the situation and prepare for potential aftershocks.

In the event of aftershocks, individuals are advised to protect themselves as much as possible from falling debris if indoors (e.g., under a table), move away from windows, and not attempt to leave a building unless there is immediate danger.
