A helicopter crashed into a building in the Opebi neighborhood of Lagos near Murtala Muhammed International Airport (LOS) on Friday, August 28. Initial reports indicate that the pilot was killed but it remains unclear if there were any passengers or people on the ground affected. Authorities have advised people to avoid the affected area. Road closures have been reported around the crash site. 

A heightened security presence and transportation disruptions are to be expected around the crash site over the coming hours.  


Those in Opebi and the wider Ikeja area are advised to monitor developments, avoid the vicinity of the crash, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
