Event

Police have found five suspicious packages placed in different locations across Pescara (Pescara province), including in government buildings on Wednesday, September 9. Authorities are investigating suspicious items found at the Carabinieri Provincial Command on Via Gabriele D'Annunzio, the Chamber of Commerce on Via Marco Polo, the Pescara Courthouse, the Pescara Local Health Authority, and on Viale Regina Margherita. Security cordons are in place and authorities have evacuated the surroundings of these locations. Threatening messages have also been discovered pasted on one of the buildings concerned. It remains unclear at this time if the packages contain explosives. 

A heightened security presence and associated transportation disruptions are to be expected as an investigation is carried out.
