An improvised explosive device (IED), potentially carried by a suicide bomber, detonated at a restaurant Boondhere district, Mogadishu, on Wednesday, September 9. The establishment, called the Dalsan restaurant, is situated in the vicinity of the Villa Somalia where the Presidential Palace and Prime Minister's Office are situated. At least three people have been killed and seven others injured by the explosion. No group has claimed responsibility for the blast at this time.
