A group affiliated with the Black Lives Matter movement have called for a counterprotest in response, and are scheduled to gather at Whittemore Park from 15:45 before marching to the Calvary United Methodist Church on Massachusetts Avenue.
A heightened security presence is expected in the vicinity of the protests and clashes between the opposing groups cannot be ruled out. Associated business and transportation disruptions are to be anticipated near the demonstration site, as well as a heightened security presence.
