Hurricane Teddy is forecast to begin to affect Bermuda from between Sunday, September 20, and Monday, September 21. Currently located approximately 1723km (1070mi) southeast of Bermuda, Teddy is a Category 4 hurricane sustaining winds of 220kph (140mph). Teddy is forecast to weaken as it approaches Bermuda and by Sunday it will be classified as either a Category 2 or Category 3 hurricane. Although the precise intensity remains unclear, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) has warned that the risks of high winds, storm surges, and heavy rainfall to Bermuda are increasing.

Teddy's forecast arrival comes following the passage of Hurricane Paulette on Monday, September 14, which led to widespread power outages and disruptions caused by fallen debris. The Bermuda Weather Service has warned that despite Teddy's distance from the territory, the hurricane has the potential to pose a threat and has advised residents to begin preparing for its arrival.

Those in Bermuda are advised to monitor local weather reports and adhere to instructions issued by local authorities.
