Emerging reports indicate that an explosion has occurred in the vicinity of Black Sea Junction in Mogadishu's Howlwadaag district on Thursday, October 1. Unconfirmed reports suggest that the blast was caused by a suicide bomber in the vicinity of Bakara market. Although casualties have been reported, the number of those killed and wounded in the incident remain remains unclear. No group has currently claimed responsibility for the attack.

Localized disruptions are likely in the area in the near term due to ongoing security response.
