Israel Alerte de sécurité

Palestinian man arrested following attempted stabbing attack near Hebron (West Bank) on October 5; localized disruptions likely in near term

TIMEFRAME expected from 5/10/2020, 12h00 until 6/10/2020, 11h59 (Asia/Jerusalem). COUNTRY/REGION Palestinian Territories, West Bank

A Palestinian man was arrested on the morning of Monday, October 5, after allegedly attempting to stab a police officer at a road junction outside the West Bank city of Hebron. Police officers reportedly drew weapons during the incident at the Okfim intersection but were able to subdue the suspect before any shots were fired. There were no injuries reported following the attack.

Residual disruptions are likely around the Okfim junction in the near term due to the ongoing police investigations.

Those in the West Bank are advised to exercise increased caution in the vicinity of security forces patrols, checkpoints, and Israeli settlements due to the risk of low-level militant attacks. Travelers should minimize time spent in the vicinity of security checkpoints, transportation hubs, road junctions, and Israeli settlements and immediately report any suspicious activity to security forces.
