A vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) blast targeted a police headquarters in Feroz Koh (Ghor province) on Sunday, October 18. Reports suggest that the device detonated at 11:00 (local time) in front of the office. The Ministry of Interior stated that at least 12 people are believed to have been killed and over 100 others have been wounded. A number of nearby buildings also sustained damage. No group has currently claimed responsibility for the attack.
Further attacks are possible in the area in the near term.
Those in Ghor province are advised to monitor developments in their own particular area of operations through a range of multi-source intelligence advisories and should heed all instructions issued by local authorities or their home governments.
