Authorities in Philadelphia have lifted a 21:00 to 06:00 (local time) curfew in the city, despite a third night of protests over the police shooting of a black man on Monday, October 26. Mass looting, fires, and clashes between security forces and protesters have been reported over the course of the protests, with police arresting 212 and seeing 57 officers injured since Monday. Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf announced the deployment of the National Guard in the city earlier in the week, along with additional police reinforcements.
A heightened police presence and transportation disruptions are expected in the city, and further clashes between protesters and police cannot be ruled out.
Those in Philadelphia are advised to monitor the situation, anticipate localized disruptions, and adhere to any instructions issued by local authorities.
