Leicestershire Police discharged a less-lethal baton round against an alleged gunman in the town of Quorn (Leicestershire) on Wednesday afternoon, November 11. The police stated that "in the interests of public and officer safety, firearms officers were deployed to the scene". Officers were called at 12:04 (local time) to a report of a man in possession of a long-barrelled firearm in the area of Sarson Street. The man was reported to be walking around the area and was reported to have pointed the weapon at people in the area including children. There were no immediate reports of any casualties. The suspect has since been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
