Strong storms brought high winds and heavy rain into northern Germany on Thursday, June 22. A tornado was reported near Hamburg and one person was killed in Uelzen, Lower Saxony, after his car was hit by a tree branch. Deutsche Bahn (DB), the national rail operator, canceled long distance trains between Hamburg, Berlin, Bremen, Kiel, and Hanover. Metronom, a regional train provider in the northwest, announced severe disruptions on lines between Uelzen, Cuxhaven, and Bremen.
