Lori A. Brown Honored

Lori A. Brown, Garda Cash Logistics Chief Legal Officer, General Counsel and Head of Human Resources, has been recognized and honored as one of the South Florida Business Journal’s 2011 Most Influential Business Women. The award recognizes women with exceptional record of leadership, performance and innovation in their industry and outstanding community involvement.

Lori recently joined Garda from Littler Mendelson, one the largest U.S. national labor and employment law firms, where she served as the Managing Shareholder of the Miami office and a member of the Firm’s Board of Directors. Before joining Littler, she worked at Jackson Lewis LLP, where she specialized in labor and employment law. She began her career as a partner at Rumberger, Kirk & Caldwell P.A., where she co-chaired the firm’s labor and employment practice.

 

While at Littler, Lori steered the Firm to attain certification as a ’Gold Standard Firm’ from the Women in Law Empowerment Forum and achieved a 100% rating on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2011 Corporate Equality Index and Best Places to Work Survey. She has lectured on a myriad employment related topics and regularly counseled and trained employers regarding employment law issues.

 

Lori has received numerous recognition awards throughout her career, including “AV” attorney rating – the highest available rating by Martindale-Hubble for legal ability and professional ethics; Honors Registry for “Women of Excellence” 2008-2009 from the National Association of Professional & Executive Women. She was ranked among the State’s Top Lawyers every year from 2007 by the South Florida Legal Guide. In addition, she has been recognized for six

consecutive years as a Florida Super Lawyer and since 2006, has been annually recognized as one of Florida’s Legal Elite.

 

A graduate of J.D., Stetson College of Law in St. Petersburg, FL, Lori earned a B.A. degree from Stetson University in Deland, FL. She was admitted to the Supreme Court of Florida in 1990 and is a member in good standing of the Florida Bar, Labor and Employment Section and the Academy of Florida Management Attorneys. She has served as a ’wish granter‘ in the South Florida Make-A-Wish organization and currently serves as a Board Member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami.
