GardaWorld helps make Pearson airport home away from home for thousands

janvier 7, 2014

As one of Canada multicultural hubs, the city of Toronto welcomes each year hundreds of thousands of immigrants wishing to start a new life. Toronto Pearson International Airport is not only the busiest airport in Canada, it is also the place where most immigrants to Canada first set foot in the country.

Recently, San Grewal of the Toronto Star featured Kevin Veerasamy and Corina Salajan, two GardaWorld Aviation Services employees, in an article about how Toronto Pearson Airport has become both the gateway and departure point for so many, including immigrants, and how that’s changed their lives. Both Kevin and Corina immigrated to Canada about a decade ago and never thought they would be working in the place where they first set foot on Canadian soil.

GardaWorld Aviation Services employs more than 2,000 employees at Toronto Pearson International Airport.

Commenting that Toronto is one of the most diverse cities in the world, GardaWorld Regional Director for Aviation Services Colleen Arnold explained how important it is for the company to reflect that diversity.

“We have employees from several dozen countries,” she noted. “It’s a very important job; they are maintaining the safety and security of the traveling public.” To read the full article please visit https://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2013/12/20/pearson_airport_home_away_from_home_for_thousands.html
