On September 30th, Vince Modarelli, Senior Vice President of US Cash Services volunteered his time and home improvement know-how to help build a new home for an Army veteran who was wounded on his third tour in Afghanistan.

The three-day event was part of the Home Depot Foundation’s 2014 Community Build Invitational in Tucson, Arizona. The Home Depot Foundation dedicates it’s time to making sure military veterans across the country have a safe place to call home, from building wheelchair ramps for disabled veterans to renovating the homes of wounded warriors. This year alone, they have completed 750 projects that have had a direct impact on the lives of over 5,000 veterans and their families.

Vince was assigned to the roofing crew with Stacie Bearden, Home Depot Director—AP Field. Their crew completed 100% of their tasks and put the project 30 days ahead of schedule.

“As a Vietnam veteran, I considered it an honor to be a part of an event giving back to the brave men and women who protect our country,” said Vince, “Giving three days of my life was the least I could do to make sure this Army veteran had a safe place to call home.”
