Building vital relationships with communities

We recognize the importance of giving back to society. Our aim is to have a positive social, economic and environmental impact on the communities where our employees and clients live and work. We distinguish ourselves through a culture of local engagement and have worked across the world to improve the lives of others.

Best-in-class security services to support local communities

At GardaWorld, we have worked with Aboriginal communities since the late 1990s. Their commitment and strong work ethic have made a great impression with both our company and our clients. We continuously listen and learn from our Aboriginal employees and partners to develop accurate ways to grow our relationships and our work together. In Fort McMurray, for instance, 20% of our workforce is from Aboriginal communities. With less than 2% turnover, this success is now to be replicated in the other regions where GardaWorld is operating.

To date, our Aboriginal inclusion efforts include:

  • Training and employment partnerships with First Nations and Métis communities.
  • Procuring goods and services from Aboriginal businesses.
  • Maintaining welcoming recruiting and human resources practices for Aboriginal people.

As our work with Aboriginal people and communities continues, we aim to maintain an inclusive workplace and support strong working relationships with Aboriginal people by fostering an internal culture and external climate of mutual understanding and respect nationwide.

GardaWorld is committed to Aboriginal inclusion and we firmly believe that our best work is ahead of us.
