First Aid Training - Ontario

Our First Aid Training Ontario course covers all the skills in emergency first aid and first aid for injuries and illnesses, as well as multiple injury management, rescue carriers, and CPR. The CPR/AED component follows ILCOR 2015 guidelines. The certification is valid for three years.

First Aid Training Ontario course content and duration:

Students will learn to recognize, respond and provide care in life-threatening emergencies until first responders arrive. This course gives participants a hands-on approach to learning new life-saving skills. Our First aid training Ontario course is geared towards educating participants about the prevention of emergencies and how to react should one arise.

This two-day, 16-hour course covers all the skills in emergency first aid and first aid.

Participants will gain knowledge in the following areas:

  • Legalities
  • Disease management and biohazards
  • The Emergency Medical Services system
  • Scene management
  • Head, spine and pelvic injuries
  • Management of bleeding management and shock
  • Cardiovascular emergencies
  • Sudden medical conditions
  • Airway and breathing emergencies
  • CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation)
  • AED (automated external defibrillator) 
  • Secondary surveys
  • Musculoskeletal injuries
  • Burns
  • Poisons, substance abuse and misuse
  • Environmental injuries and illnesses

Requirements

  • Be 18 years or older at the time of registration
  • Read and write in French
