Every year, thousands of people die due to heart attacks because they did not receive appropriate care quickly enough. Because every minute counts, security guards need to be able to recognize the signs of cardiac arrest, be able to deliver CPR, and understand the use of a defibrillator.

Our first aid training program developed by the Heart & Stroke Foundation (offered in French), provides you with the knowledge and skills necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of a private security guard in case of cardiac arrest. Our instructors are experts with decades of field experience which they share with students to help them grasp key knowledge. Course Content and Duration

This course was developed by the Heart & Stroke Foundation to help anyone react in a timely and appropriate manner in case of cardiac arrest. You’ll learn to:

  • Recognize the signs of cardiac distress/arrest
  • Clear obstructed airways
  • Carry-out CPR on adults and children
  • Use an automated external defibrillator (AED)
  • Use a pocket respiratory mask

Requirements

  • Be 18 years or older at the time of registration
  • Understand, read and write French

Certification

Upon completion of your training, you will receive a Heart and Stroke Foundation Completion Card attesting to your CPR and AED skills to meet employment, regulatory or other requirements.
