For the province of Ontario
The security guard licence issued by the province is mandatory for every person who wants to work as a security guard, and prior to applying for this licence, you must successfully complete a 40-hour basic security guard training program recognized by the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services. Our online security guard training for Ontario helps you kickstart your career. Plus, it’s affordable and you can work through it at your own pace, from the comfort of your own home.
For the province of Quebec
GardaWorld offers a similar security guard training program in French, recognized by the Bureau de la sécurité privée (BSP). This 54-hour virtual course is offered online and provides you with the skills and abilities you’ll need to work as a security guard in Quebec. Once you finish your training and receive your certificate of completion, you’ll be eligible to apply for a security guard licence directly with the BSP. Note that any application for this licence must be accompanied by a legible copy of your valid workplace first aid card (CNESST 16-hour training).
