GardaWorld and Crisis24 partner with The Honor Foundation to support veterans' next chapter

Transitioning from military service to civilian life is about more than changing uniforms—it's about redefining purpose, harnessing elite skills, and discovering new opportunities to lead. Recognizing this critical moment, GardaWorld Security – U.S. and Crisis24 are proud to announce their partnership with The Honor Foundation (THF), a career transition program dedicated to supporting U.S. Special Operations Forces veterans as they step into their next chapter.
For veterans transitioning from the Special Operations community, the shift to civilian roles can feel daunting. After careers spent facing high-pressure challenges, uncertainty about navigating corporate environments is a common hurdle. This is where The Honor Foundation steps in, offering tailored executive education, one-on-one coaching, and access to a vast professional network designed specifically to translate elite military experience into the private sector.
A partnership focused on impact
Through this partnership, GardaWorld Security – U.S. and Crisis24 will actively support THF Fellows by providing hands-on mentoring, advice on corporate dynamics, and leveraging their extensive networks to open doors to new opportunities. Volunteers from both organizations will also assist veterans with job applications, interview preparation, and the critical soft skills needed to thrive in corporate roles.
“Building on our existing veteran hiring initiatives, we’re thrilled to partner with The Honor Foundation to help create the next generation of business and community leaders as Special Operations Forces personnel transition into post-military roles,” says Mat Vance, Director of Sales, East & Southeast at GardaWorld Security – U.S., U.S. Army veteran and volunteer for The Honor Foundation. “We understand firsthand the immense talent veterans bring, and our teams are eager to contribute their time and expertise to support THF's meaningful work.”
Reflecting on his own experience transitioning from military service, Vance explains why this partnership hits close to home: This is personal for me. When I transitioned out of the military, there were “check the box” programs and more time was spent trying to retain me. There I was, having helped negotiate peace on the Green Line in Iraq between two groups of people that fought for over a millennia and I was told all I was good for was stacking boxes in a warehouse.
I swallowed my pride, took a leap, started over, scrubbed tables to pay bills, scratched and clawed my way to where I am today. It was humbling to go from hunting evil characters to wondering how you’re going to remember tonight’s dinner specials for rude patrons. I was lost. I needed a network that seemingly didn’t exist.
Then came a chance conversation with The Honor Foundation’s Director of People, Ashley Brown. I was sold after 5 minutes and immediately volunteered. Through mock interviews and cups of coffee educating THF Fellows on the corporate landscape, I found that network. The purpose was to assist Fellows, but selfishly, they helped me reconnect with like-minded people locally missing from my life.
After finding solid purpose with a startup, I was still looking for a larger company where I could help strategically support collaborative growth. My wife mentioned an opportunity at GardaWorld Security—and off we went. The rest of the story, three years in the making, brought this partnership to fruition.
Unlocking veteran potential
For The Honor Foundation, the partnership marks another powerful step forward in its mission. “GardaWorld and its businesses are global leaders in security services and risk management, so we are excited to introduce them as a new partner,” says Matt Stevens, U.S. Navy SEAL (ret.) and CEO at The Honor Foundation. “They've already shown their deep commitment to veterans, and together we'll unlock even more potential from these extraordinary individuals.”
GardaWorld Security and Crisis24 have long histories of valuing veteran skills and experiences. This partnership expands their ongoing commitment, reinforcing that successful transitions require more than job placements—they demand community, support, and genuine understanding of veteran experiences.
Investing in the future
Ultimately, this collaboration isn't just about finding jobs for veterans—it's about harnessing their unique capabilities and leadership potential to build stronger organizations and communities. At GardaWorld Security – U.S. and Crisis24, veterans are more than respected; they’re seen as essential to the future.
Because when veterans succeed, everyone benefits.
