First Aid Training Ontario course content and duration:
Students will learn to recognize, respond and provide care in life-threatening emergencies until first responders arrive. This course gives participants a hands-on approach to learning new life-saving skills. Our First aid training Ontario course is geared towards educating participants about the prevention of emergencies and how to react should one arise.
- All covid-19 provincial and municipal by-law requirements apply.
Training is offered as a one day, 6.5 hour, emergency first aid class, or two-day, 13.5 hour, standard first aid class.
Participants will gain knowledge in the following areas:
- Legalities
- Disease management and biohazards
- The Emergency Medical Services system
- Scene management
- Head, spine and pelvic injuries
- Management of bleeding management and shock
- Cardiovascular emergencies
- Sudden medical conditions
- Airway and breathing emergencies
- CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation)
- AED (automated external defibrillator)
- Secondary surveys
- Musculoskeletal injuries
- Burns
- Poisons, substance abuse and misuse
- Environmental injuries and illnesses
