The deterrent effect of security signs and stickers

Updated on January 13, 2024.
At GardaWorld, we believe that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure: prevention is our top priority when it comes to protecting our clients’ people, assets and reputations.
One of the key principles of the Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) is territorial reinforcement. Creating a clear line between public and business premises using signage on the front door, all exits and windows informs intruders that they are not welcome.
We developed “Protected by GardaWorld” signs and stickers to delimit our clients’ premises that are protected and patrolled by our security professional. These visuals let visitors know that they are on a monitored area and they should refrain from behaving in a malicious way.
These signs feature the GardaWorld seal, the symbol that represents the strength of our commitment to our clients and the bravery and decisiveness of our people.

Our operational teams have been installing the “Protected by GardaWorld” visuals at our clients’ sites across Canada in the last few months. Our clients understand that marking sites significantly helps deter theft and discourage malicious behaviours. We noticed a remarkable reduction in losses and incidents following their installation.
This initiative is aligned with our promise to enhance security without compromise: our clients and their employees feel safer and can focus on their core business with peace of mind.
If you are a client of GardaWorld and do not have marked sites, please contact your GardaWorld representative.
