GardaWorld Security officially launched the enhanced maternity ward and security upgrades at Westlands Hospital in Kenya. The project improved safety for mothers, newborns, staff, and visitors through better infrastructure, added lighting, and stronger site security. This initiative reflects GardaWorld Security’s commitment to supporting safer communities and improving essential healthcare environments.

Maternal Health Support at Westlands Hospital in Nairobi

At Westlands Hospital, a Level 4 facility serving more than 350,000 community members, we delivered a comprehensive project focused on both safety and maternal health. Through vital security upgrades and critical maternity ward improvements, we are helping safeguard mothers, newborns, and the healthcare professionals who support them.

In October 2025, GardaWorld Security officially commissioned the upgraded maternity ward alongside improved security infrastructure, introducing essential enhancements that elevate safety, dignity, and quality of care within one of Nairobi’s busiest public health centres.

Hospital Security Upgrades for Safer Healthcare Facilities

To address longstanding security challenges, our teams installed razor wire along the perimeter wall and set up six 300-watt solar-powered LED security lights - all completed by GardaWorld Security technicians. These upgrades significantly reduce risks for patients, staff, facilities, and medical supplies.

Maternity Ward Equipment for Safer Childbirth

Inside the maternity ward, we supplied crucial equipment to support safer childbirth, including eight single-crank epoxy-coated beds with bedding, eight bedside cabinets, a portable fetal doppler for monitoring fetal wellbeing, and an oxygen concentrator to assist mothers and newborns experiencing respiratory distress.
